Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I know I want a website, but I don't know where to start. What do I do first?

A. First, you need to think about how much do you want to invest. If you want your very own domain name and space, that costs at least 100 dollars/year. After that, the cost for creating pages is up to you. It depends on how many pages you want. Once you know how much you want to spend, I can figure out how to best divide that money out (some to buy your name/space and some to make pages).

Q. How much do I need to know about computers?

A. Nothing. Well, it's helpful if you can check your email. Once your pages are made and you want things changed, you just need to send me an email or call me. I make all the changes. If you want photos added, it's much more cost effective if you can email them to me. I can give you directions on how to do those things if you haven't before.

Q. Once you buy my name and space and make my site, what costs are there in the future?

A. Your name and space is purchased yearly. If I can find a better deal by buying those things for more than one year (I often can) then we can do that, if you want. The other costs would be when you want changes. I charge 25 dollars an hour billed in 15 minute increments. Frankly, if its something easy, I won't even charge you for that. For example, let's say you sold a colt and you just need his photo marked "sold". That takes two seconds. Heck, it would take me longer to bill you for it than to actually make the change. Other costs you might see would be of your own choice (photography, featured horse graphics, web albums).

Q. Will you take photos for me?

A. I will, but you have to know a few things. I take pretty good outdoor photos and I'll take many, many for you. However, I am not a professional photographer. You will need to cover an hourly wage (25 dollars an hour) and reimbursement for travel. I will work fast and because all of the photos are electronic, you can have them all on a CD.

Q. Why don't you have more examples up?

A. I don't push my services. If you want it -- it's there and you'll be happy. I work more than full time during the school year, I have a 2 year old daughter, and 2 horses. I'm a busy gal, but love making sites. It's artistic! You'll notice that my current sites are softball related because my husband is the Varsity Softball Coach at our local high school.
